Car Share series 2 to be shown in cinemas

Special screenings for Comic Relief

Unseen footage from Peter Kay’s Car Share is to be shown in cinemas as a Comic Relief fundraiser.

The comic and his co-star Sian Gibson will also answer questions put to them by fans in the special event, which also involves the screening of two new episodes of the second series.

More than 250 Vue cinemas will be taking part in the charity special – announced during the Red Nose Day telethon on BBC One tonight –  at 7.45pm next Friday.

Profits from ticket sales will be donated to the charity.

Comic Relief founder Richard Curtis, said: ‘Peter has been a long-standing supporter of Red Nose Day, from honing his miming skills for the Amarillo single to… the amazing Phoenix Nights Live which made over £5 million.

‘We’re always bowled over by his generosity and the originality of the stuff he does for us. The first series of Car Share was genius and so we’re completely thrilled that he is offering up a special broadcast of the new series to help raise cash for Comic Relief.’

Tickets are on sale now here.
