New talent in Just A Couple

BBC Three is releasing a new short-form comedy series about a relationship between two millennials.

Just A Couple is a series of six ten-minute episodes starring relative newcomers Michael Salami and Frieda Thiel as Mark and Shavon.

The series started life as a YouTube sketch, made by the same team in 2014, for which Salami won a Screen Nation Award.

Most of the action takes place in the young couple’s flat, with the first episode revolving around them taking a relationship quiz ‘until they both start to feel things might be getting a little too close for comfort’.

The show has has been written and directed by Sebastian Thiel, who has made a number of short films, and is being made by Big Talk Productions, whose credits include Cold Feet and Raised By Wolves.

Episode one will be released at 11am on March 9, with subsequent instalments coming weekly.
