Rhys Darby has joined the team of improvisers on the new Australian version of Whose Line Is It Anyway?

Also appearing alongside the Flight Of The Conchords star will be Steen Raskopoulos, who recently starred in BBC Three’s Top Coppers alongside John Kearns.

The line-up is completed by Cal Wilson, Tegan Higginbotham, Susie Youssef, Bridie Connell and Tom Walker, this year’s Melbourne comedy festival best newcomer. Walker and Youssef will be performing at the Edinburgh Fringe next month.

Tommy Little, who will host the new series, tweeted that the new team, announced last night, were ‘a merry bunch of dickheads’.

Whose Line? was created by Dan Patterson and Mark Leveson for Radio 4 and Channel 4 in 1988. The format has been a long-running success in the US and recently returned to the West End stage, fronted by original host Clive Anderson.

The new series of ten episodes is currently being filmed in Melbourne and is expected to start on Foxtel's Comedy Channel later this year.
