'Who knows if it'll ever be made?'

Flight Of The Conchords have started writing a film.

Jemaine Clement has confirmed that he and Bret McKenzie are working on a full-length movie, six years after their HBO series ended.

However he sounded a note of caution about the project, telling Indiewire: ‘Who knows if it will ever be made? We’ve written some notes for some different film ideas. We’re not down to the stage where we’re going, “The film is going to be like this,” it could be this, this, this, this, this.’

McKenzie, who worked on the music for the Muppets movies, said in 2011: ‘We're going to try and do a movie. We just need a story.’ He had previously been reported to be writing a Labyrinth-style musical comedy film.

The duo are also expected to announce a tour before the end of the year.

Clement was being interviewed to promote his starring role in James C. Strouse’s new movie People Places Things, where he plays a recently divorced man trying to move on with his life.

And earlier this year he was cast in the pilot of HBO comedy Divorce, written by Catastrophe’s Sharon Horgan and starring Sex And The City’s Sarah Jessica Parker – which has been picked up for a full series.
