BBC Scotland focuses on Still Game

Festive highlights announced

The story of Still Game is to be told in a BBC Scotland documentary to air over the New Year.

Creators Ford Kiernan and Greg Hemphill will take part in the show, as well as some of their fans, including Robbie Coltrane, Lorraine Kelly and Martin Compston.

The pair – who brought back the sitcom as a hugely successful live show at Glasgow’s new Hydro venue this summer, almost seven years after its last TV broadcast – will also feature on Radio Scotland on Christmas Day.

In a show imaginatively titled Christmas with Ford and Greg, they will look back on what 2014 has meant for them as well as speaking to celebrity friends.

Also announced for the BBC Scotland festive schedules today are Jonathan Watson’s annual sketch show Only an Excuse?, taking a comic look back at the year.

And Rory Bremner will also review of the last 12 months, with particular emphasis on the independence referendum, in his own year-end special.

Donalda Mackinnon, head of programmes for BBC Scotland, said: ‘As a momentous year draws to a close, we are delivering a terrific package of programming for our audiences to enjoy throughout the festivities.’
