Comic suffers undisclosed medical emergency

American comic Tig Notaro has cancelled her weekend gigs after begin hospitalised with an undisclosed medical emergency.

The stand-up, who has had a double mastectomy after being diagnosed with breast cancer in 2012, had been due to play Boston on Saturday and Denver on Sunday.

Promoted AEG Live said she was 'dealing with a medical emergency and is being hospitalised.' A similar stamen appeared on her official Facebook page.

The news comes days after she made headlines for spontaneously performing topless for most of her set at the New York Comedy Festival to reveal her scars.

In a recent interview the 44-year-old said she was still in remission but felt 'really, really great on a daily basis'.
