Passing On from News Quiz writer Gwynn

Katy Wix and Alan Partridge star Felicity Montagu are to star in a new radio comedy.

Passing On in a six-part sitcom penned by News Quiz writer Gareth Gwynn, about two brothers who are forced to reunite every month thanks to a clause in their mother’s will insisting that they pass her ashes between them.

The BBC Radio Wales series also stars Kieron Self from My Family as well as Richard Elis and Melangell Dolma, making her broadcast debut.

Production has started on the series, and Elis, who previously played Huw Edwards in EastEnders, said: ‘It's the kind of thing I really enjoy listening to, it's almost a pity I'm in it because now I know how the story ends. The mixture of comedy experience added to youthful energy within the cast should make it appeal to a wide range of listeners.

Produced by Ben Partridge and Zipline Creative, the series is scheduled to start on Radio Wales on July 25.
