BGT comic joins cast of Walliams's sitcom

Teenage Britain's Got Talent comic Jack Carroll is to star in the next series of BBC One sitcom Big School.

The comedy is co-written by David Walliams, who is a judge on the ITV talent show which gave Carroll his big break. He told The Sun: 'I am excited to be welcoming so many talented new faces to the show - and it's great to be working with Jack.'

Carroll, who has cerebral palsy, will play a new boy at Greybridge School named Dean.

He was runner-up in the 2012 BGT competition when he was just 14, after previously being championed by Jason Manford.

Carroll has already appeared in two series of CBBC's Ministry of Curious Stuff alongside Vic Reeves.

Former Holby City actor Jimmy Akingbola, is also joining the cast of Big School as Mr Dalton when the series returns this August.
