Lilley's Jonah comes to BBC Three | New Summer Heights High spin-off

Lilley's Jonah comes to BBC Three

New Summer Heights High spin-off

Summer Heights High creator Chris Lilley is to make a new show around his creation Jonah Takalua for BBC Three.

The last time the troublesome 14-year-old was seen, he was expelled from school with his father sending him back to his homeland of Tonga.

The new show, to be produced by Princess Pictures for ABC Australia, will pick up the story on the island. It will broadcast on BBC Three and in Australia in the New Year.

It is the second spin-off Lilley has made from Summer Heights High, following Ja'mie: Private School Girl, which will also air on BBC Three in 2014.

The show has just finished its Australian run and launched on HBO in the States on Sunday, where it divided critics.

BBC Three controller Zai Bennett said: 'Having already announced that Ja’mie will be coming to BBC Three in 2014, I can’t wait to see Jonah on the channel next year too.'
