BBC to honour Felix Dexter

Tribute show commissioned

BBC Two has commissioned a one-off tribute show about Felix Dexter, who died on Friday at the age of 52.

The 30-minute programme will feature contributions from a range of his comedy colleagues from The Real McCoy to Citizen Khan.

Paul Whitehouse said: ‘It's great that the BBC are showing this tribute to Felix. He was brilliant, funny and challenging and deserves to be remembered as such, even though he was a Gooner.’

Mark Freeland, The BBC ’s controller of UK comedy production, added: ‘We're proud at the BBC that we will be able to gather up all the love and goodwill towards Felix in this special and show what a fantastic comedy actor he was.’

No details have yet been announced of when the programme – an in-house BBC comedy production – will air.
