League Of Gentlemen reunion revealed

It's for a benefit gig

The League of Gentlemen are to reunite for a London charity gig.

Mark Gatiss, Steve Pemberton and Reece Shearsmith are to perform together at a star-studded benefit for the Royal Free Hospital at the Adelphi Theatre on December 1.

The Rocks With Laughter event also features a rare live appearance from Rowan Atkinson, as well as Matt Lucas Harry Enfield, Harry Hill and Mitchell and Webb.

Shearsmith prompted intense speculation about the reunion yesterday when he tweeted a picture of the three of them, with the message: ‘There might be some news about these people - coming soon. Keep em peeled.’

Rumours were that Gatiss was to join Shearsmith and Pemberton’s next BBC Two project, Inside No 9. Gatiss previously guested on the duo’s Psychoville series.

But now it has been revealed that the project is the charity fundraiser, which also features Lee Mack, Tim Vine, Paul Whitehouse and others.

Tickets for the gig go on sale at 9am on Monday.

The League of Gentlemen began life on Radio 4 and ran for three years on BBC Two from 1999 to 2002, followed by a movie. The three also joined forces last year to create a series of sketches for CBBC's Horrible Histories.
