'Half' an apology

Sitcom star's damage limitation exercise

Two And A Half Men actor Angus T Jones has backpedalled over his attack on the show that made him rick.

The 19-year-old made headlines around the world over his video interview with a fundamentalist Christian, blasting the show as ‘filth’ that does the Devil’s work.

He originally claimed ‘I’m on Two and a Half Men, and I don’t want to be on it’  – but his new statement appears to be an attempt to save his job, after realising the possible consequences of his words.

‘I apologise if my remarks reflect me showing indifference to and disrespect of my colleagues and a lack of appreciation of the extraordinary opportunity of which I have been blessed. I never intended that, Jones said.

He said the shows creators, producers and broadcasters ‘are responsible for what has been one of the most significant experiences in my life to date. I thank them for the opportunity they have given and continue to give me and the help and guidance I have and expect to continue to receive from them.

‘I also want all of the crew and cast on our show to know how much I personally care for them and appreciate their support, guidance and love over the years.

‘I grew up around them and know that the time they spent with me was in many instances more than with their own families. I learned life lessons from so many of them and will never forget how much positive impact they have had on my life.’

Jones has been with the show since it started ten years ago, and now earns a reported $350,000 an episode – but the video raised questions about his future.

However it has been noted that his statement is full of praise for his colleagues – but makes no comment on the show itself.

In the original interview with Christopher Hudson, a preacher with Forerunner Chronicles, Jones said: ‘You cannot be a good God-fearing person and be on a television show like that. I know I can’t. I’m not OK with what the Bible says and being on that show.’

Hudson preaches an apocalyptic message that God is about to wreak his vengeance on the world and 'Satan’s human agents’ because he is angered by things such as gay marriage. He also believes Jay-Z is a devil worshiping Freemason.
