Second series for Mount Pleasant

But moving to Sky Living

Comedy-drama Mount Pleasant is to return for a second series, but moving from Sky 1 to Sky Living.

A new run of nine hour-long episodes will start on August 15, and a Christmas special has also been commissioned.

The first season of the Sally Lindsay show attracted an average weekly audience of 1.3 million viewers across all screenings.

Stuart Murphy, Sky’s director of entertainment said said the move to Sky Living was part of the transformation of the channel.

And channel director Jane Johnson added: ‘Mount Pleasant prfectly epitomises what Sky Living should be – smart, funny, mischievous, stylish, accessible, high quality and very, very real.

‘I have admired [writer] Sarah Hooper’s work since the first series. She “gets” modern women, modern relationships and modern Britain. And she has a cracking sense of humour. I feel privileged to be able to bring her work to a big female channel like Sky Living HD.’
