Harry Hill joins the Fringe

For eight work-in-progress shows

Harry Hill is to return to the Edinburgh Fringe to perform just eight work-in-progress gigs.

The TV Burp star will be doing two shows a day at Stand 3 with his band The Caterers as he tries out new material in preparation for his first live tour in six years.

He will be in Edinburgh at the very start of the festival –  from August 1 to 4 – in the intimate venue.

His dates come ahead of Michael McIntyre’s controversial warm-up dates in the city’s 3,000-seat Playhouse, but with a capacity of just a couple of hundred, Hill’s shows cannot take too much of an audience away from up-and-coming comics. And at £15, tickets are half the price of McIntryre’s.

Hill’s hour-long shows will be at 11.30am and 1.15pm, and tickets go on sale at noon on July 4, from The Stand’s website only. Hill is playing a number of work-in-progress shows this summer, including the Balham Comedy Festival next week and a number of nights at the Battersea Arts Centre later in July.
