Hundreds queue from 4am for Michael McIntyre tickets

More than 500 fans have queued from as early as 4am to get tickets to see Michael McIntyre in an intimate Welsh Theatre.

The TV star is performing two warm-up dates at Monmouth’s 360-capacity Savoy Theatre in June ahead of his national arena tour.

And the 720 seats sold out within 90 minutes of going on sale at 10am on Saturday, as quickly as the box office staff could process them.

Buyers were limited to two of the £25 tickets each, but a theatre spokesman said: ‘There were hundreds of people who, unfortunately queued, but missed out.’

The profits from the shows are going to Monmouth Music Festival.
