Anchorman 2 WILL be made

Will Ferrell confirms news

A sequel to Anchorman is going to be made, Will Ferrell has announced.

He confirmed long-standing rumours of the movie when he appeared on the Conan O’Brien chat show last night.

He came on the show in character, and said: ‘I want to announce this to everyone here in the Americas, to our friends in Spain, Turkey and the UK - including England - that as of 0900 mountain time, Paramount Pictures and myself, Ronald Joseph Aaron Burgundy, have come to terms on a sequel to Anchorman.’

Adam McKay is returning to direct, while original co-stars Paul Rudd and Steve Carell are also expected to reprise their roles as reporter Brian Fantana. And weatherman Brick Tamland.

The original movie made $91million at the global box office around the world – and the sequel is expected next year.

This is the show that celebrated the launch of Nick Helm's album in 2016, and has previously been unseen by anyone who was not in the O2 Forum Kentish Town that night.

With typical hyperbole, the show is described thusly: 'Under-rehearsed, under-prepared and under pressure, Nick and his band somehow managed to pull together the greatest show in the last 27 years of living memory. That show went down as a thing of legend, often spoken about by weary travellers around campfires, but thought to have been lost to the sands of time forever.'
