Uninisured Irish comic caught speeding

Irish comic David McSavage has been banned from the road for two years after being caught speeding and driving without insurance.

The 46-year-old star of RTE's The Savage Eye was was pulled over in Dublin city centre in February last year for breaking a 50km/h speed limit.

And appearing in court last week, Judge Bridget Reilly handed down the ban and ordered him to pay a €250 fine.

McSavage, who was driving back from a gig when caught, said he was sorry for his actions, telling the Irish Herald: 'It was a really irresponsible thing to do... I completely regret it.'
