Louis CK takes the Grammy

And a gong for South Park duo

Louis CK has won a Grammy for his stand-up show Hilarious.

He took the comedy award at last night’s American recording industry bash ahead of fellow nominees ‘Weird Al’ Yankovic, Patton Oswalt, Kathy Griffin and The Lonely Island.

However the dad of two was not at the glitzy Los Angeles bash, as he revealed in a Tweet saying: ‘I’m cooking rice green beans, steak for the kids (gf chicken fingers too) and someone just told me I won a Grammy. well golly.

‘Thank you to whoever decides to give those things to people,’ he added. ‘And thank you to people who buy things that I make and then laugh.’

Oswalt was generous in defeat, posting: ‘If I was going to lose the Grammy, I'm glad it was to the best comedian alive.’

South Park creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone also won a Grammy, triumphing in the category for best musical theatre album for their Broadway hit The Book Of Mormon.
