Miranda and McIntyre up for awards

Public vote decides NTA winners

Miranda, Benidorm and Outnumbered were the best sitcoms of the year – according to the National Television Awards.

The three have all been shortlisted for the accolades, which are decided by public vote.

Meanwhile, Michael McIntyre is up for two gongs: for entertainment presenter and for best entertainment programme for his Comedy Roadshow.

In the latter category, he faces competition from Harry Hill’s TV Burp, Dynamo: Magician Impossible and Take Me Out.

While fellow nominees for the presenter award are Leigh Francis's Celebrity Juice alter-ego Keith Lemon, Ant and Dec and Dermot O'Leary.

In the comedy panel show category, the shortlist is Celebrity Juice Have I Got News For You, QI and Mock The Week; while Jonathan Ross, Alan Carr, Graham Norton and Loose Women have all been nominated for best chat show.

Polls are open now, and the winners will be announced during a televised ceremony hosted by Dermot O'Leary from the O2 Arena in London on January 25.
