Scrubs star to make West End debut

...in a play what he wrote

Scrubs star Zach Braff is to make his British stage acting debut in a new comedy play, which he also wrote.

All New People will open in the West End on February 22, after week-long runs at the Manchester Opera House and the King’s Theatre, Glasgow

Braff said: ‘It's always been a dream of mine to do a play in the West End. I never imagined I'd be lucky enough to have it be a play I'd written. I would have been happy to set up shop in Hyde Park.’

The play is about of Charlie, a man planning to commit suicide on his 35th birthday at his friends' Long Beach Island apartment. However a ‘motley parade of misfits’, including an escort, a fireman, and an eccentric British estate agent, show up to change his plans.

It has already run on Broadway to positive reviews – but without Braff in the starring role.

Tickets for the ten-week run at the Duke of York’s Theatre go on sale tomorrow.
