Bridges breaks box-office records

Kevin Bridges has broken box office records in his home town of Glasgow, after selling 45,000 tickets in one day.

The 25-year-old sold out five nights at the 9,000-seat SECC Arena on Friday – even though the gigs are not until October next year.

He has now added an extra sixth date at the venue, making him first comedian ever to perform such a long run there.

However, it seems not everyone brought tickets for themselves, as there are already hundreds being offered on eBay above the face value, with sellers demanding up to £125 for a front-row seat.

Bridges has his own BBC One series next year, Kevin Bridges What’s The Story, and his 2012 DVD will be recorded during the Glasgow run.
