Russell Howard breaks his fingers

Taken to hosptial after Good News stunt

Russell Howard was taken to hospital last night after breaking fingers on his left hand while recording his BBC Three show Good News.

The injury, sustained during a stunt in which the comic performed a press-up on a chair, is not thought to be serious. He continued filming for 20 minutes and watched edited footage of the show before leaving for hospital.

One of the show’s writers, Karl Minns, confirmed on Twitter: ‘Russell Howard is alive and well, albeit with a busted hand. Have volunteered to punch in his PIN number for him. Now in Rio...’

UPDATE 17/11: Howard has his hand in a cast and will not be performing Laugh or the Polar Bear Gets It, a benefit for Friends of the Earth at Hammersmith Apollo tomorrow.
