Jonnie Marbles jailed

Six weeks for Murdoch attack

Sometime comedian Jonnie Marbles has been jailed for six weeks for his shaving-foam attack on Rupert Murdoch.

The fervent anti-capitalist protestor – real name Jonathan May-Bowles, was also ordered to pay £250 costs and a £15 victim surcharge.

After pleading guilty to the offences in Westminster Magistrates' Court last week, 26-year-old Marbles said: ‘I would just like to say this has been the most humble day of my life’, mocking Murdoch's opening statement to the Commons Culture, Media and Sport Committee.
