Izzard makes Hollywood history

First comic to play the Bowl

Eddie Izzard is to make history by becoming the first comedian to perform a one-man show at the Hollywood Bowl.

The 49-year-old will be following in the footsteps of his comedy heroes, Monty Python, who played the venue in 1980.

But never before has a solo comic played the 17,000-capacity venue.

He will be performing his Stripped tour there on July 20.
