The sketch show produced from comedy website Funny Or Die is to be aired in the UK for the first time.

The series has been bought up by upmarket new channel Sky Atlantic, which is expected to air it from May

Funny Or Die Presents… has so far run for one season in the States, with a second due to start next week. The website was founded by Will Ferrell and Anchorman director Adam McKay, who also created the TV show alongside Judd Apatow and others.

Sky Atlantic has also signed up exclusive rights to series such as Mad Men, Entourage, Dustin Hoffman's drama Luck, Al Pacino in You Don't Know Jack and Martin Scorsese’s Boardwalk Empire.

It will also air home-grown content including the quirky comedy This Is Jinsy, Paul Abbott's new drama Hit and Miss and Sir David Attenborough's documentary Flying Monsters.

Sky Atlantic will also be the new home for The Sopranos , Curb Your Enthusiasm and Six Feet Under.

Sky's director of programmes Stuart Murphy said: ‘Sky Atlantic HD is unashamedly dedicated to quality.’
