Comedies vie for TV prize

The nominees have been announced for best comedy in the Broadcast Awards, run by the TV industry magazine.

Shortlisted shows are Benidorm, IT Crowd, Miranda, Outnumbered, Rev and The Thick of It

Meanwhile, John Bishop’s Britain has been nominated for best entertainment programme.

His BBC One show is up against Come Dine With Me (C4); Got to Dance (Sky1); Must be the Music (Sky1) and The Cube (ITV1)

Kids’ comedy show Sorry I’ve Got No Head is shortlisted in its category, too.

The winners will be announced at a ceremony at London's Grosvenor House Hotel on February 2.
