Russell Howard's Good News pulled in more than 1million viewers last night.

The show was the most popular on all digital channels, winning an audience of1.15million for BBC Three at 10.30pm. That was 7.3 per cent of the audience at the time, and up more than a quarter on the pervious week’s showing.

However BBC One’s comedy hour had mixed blessings, according to the overnight figures.

Have I Got News For You continues to perform strongly, with 5million tuning in at 9pm.

But two million of them switched over at 9.30pm when Martin Clunes sitcom Reggie Perrin came on, causing the channel’s audience share to dip from over 20 per cent to 13.2 per cent.
