A date with the geeks

Chris Addison in nerds' calendar

Chris Addison has become a nerds' pin-up, posing for a new Geeks’ Calendar.

The Thick Of It star is Mr December 2011 in the calendar, which aims to raise money for Libel Reform.

He’s pictured surrounded by scientific books and magazines, as well as an atomic model, a toy Space Shuttle, a scale Apollo rocket – and Muppet scientist Dr Bunsen Honeydew.

Professor Richard Wiseman called it ‘a porn calendar for brainy people’ – although none of the models are naked.

The calendar also includes Jonathan Ross, physicist Brian Cox, science writers Simon Singh and Ben Goldacre and chess champion Sabrina Chevannes.

They are supporting the Libel Reform campaign, which is fighting to prevent the UK courts being used to silence free speech, in areas including scientific research.
