Like a US Inbetweeners - in the 80s

E4 buys American teen comedy

E4 has snapped up the rights to American teen comedy Glory Daze.

The ten-part series is set in a Wisconsin college in the Eighties, and originally aired on the TBS network.

Starring Saturday Night Live's Tim Meadows, E4 are mentioning the show in the same breath as its biggest hit The Inbetweeners, which has just come to an end.

Channel 4's acting head of acquisitions, Penny Harris, said: ‘Glory Daze is warm, uproariously funny with universally recognisable characters at its heart; think The Inbetweeners boys and what they would have been doing at an American college in the Eighties and you're pretty much there.

The series will begin on E4 in January.
