Coogan joins Idiot Brother

Another movie role for Steve

Steve Coogan has landed another Hollywood role, in an indie comedy called My Idiot Brother.

The Alan Partridge creator is to play a self-righteous documentary filmmaker in the movie, now shooting in New York.

His co-stars include Elizabeth Banks, Zooey Deschanel and Emily Mortimer, Rashida Jones and Adam Scott.

The film is about family and the sacrifices it takes to deal with them, according to Dateline New York, which broke the news of Coogan's casting.

Coogan will next appear opposite Will Ferrell and Mark Wahlberg in The Other Guys, out in the UK on September 2, and it was recently announced that he will star in a big-screen remake of his BBC one-off Cruise Of The Gods.
