Kielty joins Radio 2

Ten-week stint this summer

Patrick Kielty is to host a Saturday morning show on BBC Radio Two over the summer.

The comedian, currently fronting Channel 4’s Stand Up For The Week, will fill the slot for ten weeks from July 24, before Graham Norton takes over on October 2.

Kielty has already presented two shows on Radio 2 this year: the New Year's Resolutions show in January and The People's Artist Chart in April.

He said: ‘I'm delighted to be sharing Saturday mornings with the listeners of Radio 2. I've had great craic making my shows earlier this year and I'm really looking forward to kick-starting the weekend on the wireless this summer.’

And with phrases like ‘kick-starting the weekend on the wireless’, he seems destined for a long career in radio.
