Two dates announced

He will play the 12,500-capacity venue on April 26 and 27, before heading to the US for two nights at both Madison Square Garden in New York and Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles.

Gervais’s stock in the States is likely to rise further this weekend, when he hosts the Golden Globes ceremony, which is broadcast live on NBC.

Tickets for the Wembley gigs will go on sale from January 22 from 0844 815 0815.
