Grand Theft Omid

Djalili joins video game cast

Omid Djalili has become the latest comedian to lend his voice to Grand Theft Auto IV.

The Anglo-Iranian comic plays a ‘nutjob’ real estate billionaire in the new expansion episode for the controversial game, The Ballad Of Gay Tony.

He joins the ranks of Ricky Gervais and Frankie Boyle – who played themselves performing stand-up sets in the comedy clubs of Liberty City in the original game and the original add-on episode The Lost And The Damned respectively.

Djalili’s character Yusuf orders star character Niko Bellic, to hijack a railway carriage, so he can send it back to the Middle East as a present for his friend.

The new game – which promises ‘a sense of riotous abandon’ is due out on October 29.

Here is a trailer, in which Djalili’s voice can be briefly heard around the 36-second mark, saying: ‘Things went a bit crazy and I’ve somehow lost my pants.’
