Walliams up for book prize

Accolade for Boy In The Dress

David Walliams’s book about a cross-dressing boy has been nominated for a children’s literary prize.

The Boy In The Dress has been shortlisted for the Roald Dahl Funny Prize for he funniest book aimed at children aged seven to 14.

Illustrated by Quentin Blake and published by HarperCollins, the book is up against four other titles, including Eating Things On Sticks by former Children’s Laureate Anne Fine.

The winner of the £2,500 prize will be announced on November 10.

Bill Bailey was among those on the judging panel.
