Danny's in the game...

Assassin's Creed role for Wallace

Danny Wallace is to provide one of the voices in the new video game Assassin’s Creed II.

Producers will also make the character of Shaun Hastings, a guide through the game, look like the Join Me author.

Wallace used to write about video games before becoming a comedy reviewer, and finally crossing over into writing and performing.

He said: ‘Going right back to my days of working on Sega Power, I’ve always been a keen gamer, and actually being in a game like Assassin’s Creed II is amazing. I have to say, I’m rather excited.’

Scriptwriter Corey May added: ‘Danny has been fantastic to work with, and his manner and particular style of humour has worked out perfect for the role of Shaun.’

Wallace also wrote Yes Man, which was turned into a Jim Carey comedy last year, and is a columnist on the lifestyle magazine ShortList.

Assassin’s Creed II is an epic game set among the ruling families of Renaissance Italy and is set to be launched in November.
