Comic role for David Tennant

David Tennant and Sarah Harding have joined the cast of the new St. Trinian's film, The Legend of Fritton's Gold.

The Doctor Who star will play bad guy Pomfrey in the latest installment of the franchise, which began filming today at Ealing Studios and on location around London.

It is not known what role Harding will play, but she said in an interview this week that she would like to be a comedy actress because ‘I adore making people laugh’.

She had a cameo as ‘a school band player’ in the 2007 revivial of the boarding school franchise, along with the rest of Girls Aloud.

The cast of the new film also includes Rupert Everett, Colin Firth, Gemma Arterton, Talulah Riley, Jodie Whittaker and Celia Imrie, all of whom appeared in the last installment.

Russell Brand starred as Flash Harry in the last film, but has not been included in any official casting announcements for the sequel.
