Comedy Central buys stand-up shows

Tiernan and Burns to air next month

Comedy Central has brought the rights to air stand-up specials from Brendon Burns and Tommy Tiernan.

The UK cable channel will broadcast Burns's provocative if.comedy-winning show I Suppose This Is Offensive Now for the first time on Saturday July 4.

And two weeks later, the broadcaster will premiere Tiernan’s Bovinity tour, filmed in Cork in 2007 following a 56-night run at Dublin’s Vicar Street venue.

Comedy Central will also be airing the new, fourth series of the Edinburgh and Beyond stand-up showcase next month. Hosted by Russell Howard, the series features sets from Russell Kane, Richard Herring, Kirsten Schall, Sephen K Omoas, Isy Suttie and others.
