Radio sitcom for McGowan

Consumer watchdog comedy in the works

Alistair McGowan has record a sitcom pilot based around a consumer watchdog radio show.

Green Wing's Michelle Gomez co-starred in The Sharp End, which was taped on location last week, without a studio audience.

The show – which was written by stand-ups Ian Stone and Tom Craine – was commissioned by Radio 2, and made by independent production house Unique. It was the writing duo’s first commission.

The news comes after McGowan complained that the BBC crushed his hopes of making a TV comeback, by refusing to make another series of Big Impression.
