Brand shoots new movie at O2

Russell Brand shot scenes for his next Hollywood movie during his gig at London’s O2 Arena last night.

The 16,000 fans who bought tickets for his stand-up show were roped in as extras for Get Him To The Greek, the follow-up to Forgetting Sarah Marshall.

After his comedy performance – which was also being filmed for a DVD release at Christmas – Brand returned to the stage in the guise of his rock star character Aldous Snow.

He performed two songs with Infant Sorrow, the film’s fictional band – the rock anthem I Am Jesus and the more ballad-like Inside Of You – while cameras caught the reactions of the sold-out crowd.

The plot of Get Him To The Greek invovles a fresh-faced executive, Jonah Hill, charged with ensuring Brand’s out-of-control rock star gets from London to a gig at LA's Greek Theater without incident.

While Brand changed from his stand-up garb into the wardrobe of Aldous Snow, the O2 crowd was treated to a surprise appearance by Jack Black.

He joined Forgetting Sarah Marshall writer and co-star Jason Segel to perform the song Dracula’s Lament from last year’s film.
