Birds Of A Feather to flock back?

Sitcom revival planned

Birds of a Feather could be heading for a comeback after more than a decade.

Stars Pauline Quirke, Linda Robson and Lesley Joseph have reportedly been approached by the makers of the BBC One sitcom and asked to make another series.

And they say they will return if the scripts are good enough.

Quirke told the Daily Mirror: ‘People remember Birds of a Feather so fondly because it didn’t tail off at the end, the standard of the scripts didn’t deteriorate. We’d be keen to maintain that standard. None of us would want to make a new series that was below standard. I’d rather stay at home doing the housework.

The show ran for 102 episodes over nine series, starting in 1989 and ending with a Christmas Eve special in 1998.

Quirke said: ‘Not bad for a show that was basically three women sitting round a table, talking. I’m very proud of it.’
