The first in six years

Eddie Izzard is to tour Britain for the first time in six years.

He has announced a 19-date tour of his latest Stripped show this autumn, including a night in London’s vast O2 Arena.

Izzard recently performed a five-week residency of the show in the West End’s Lyric Theatre, which sold out within 48 hours of going on sale. That run followed a tour of 34 American cities.

His last tour, Sexie, in 2003 was not thought to be his best, but many critics commented that Stripped was a return to form.

The tour kicks off at Nottingham’s Trent Arena on October 23, ending up in Wembley Arena on December 5. However, more shows are likely to be added soon.
