Corden heads for Hollywood?

Talks over co-starring with Jack Black

James Corden is reportedly on the verge of signing his first Hollywood deal.

The Gavin & Stacey star is heading to Los Angles in the next few days to meet Jack Black – which could lead to the pair co-starring in a new movie version of Gulliver’s Travels.

Writer Nicholas Stoller – who helped put Russell Brand on the road to stardom in the US after casting him in Forgetting Sarah Marshall – is said to be keen on doing the same for Corden.

An unnamed source told The Sun: ‘James got a call before Christmas inviting him out to Los Angeles to read a part for the new movie. Film bosses are determined to get him on board to play Jack Black’s sidekick… the full charm offensive is in operation.’

Corden’s first movie, Lesbian Vampire Killers, which he made with Gavin & Stacey co-star Mathew Horne is due to be released this year.

Shooting on the new version of Gulliver’s Travels, which sets Jonathan Swift’s satirical novel in modern times, begins in March.

Black has already been cast as Lemuel Gulliver, a travel writer who is washed ashore amid the tiny people of Lilliput while on assignment in the Bermuda Triangle.
