Coogan's tour terror

...and US TV show may be in the works

Steve Coogan says he’s ‘terrified’ of his impeding UK tour.

The Alan Partridge star embarks on a 56-date tour in October, around a decade since he last took to the stage.

Speaking to promote his new film, Topic Thunder, he told the Los Angeles Times: ‘I’m doing it because I want to do it, not because I have to do it.

‘I miss doing it, and it scares me. I'm excited by the prospect of doing it and terrified… And also to get that immediate visceral reaction. The good thing about when you perform live is there's no ambiguity. People either laugh or they don’t.’

Coogan also said that a new American TV project may be in the works.

He said: ‘I may be doing something for HBO soon, with Justin Theroux, who co-wrote Tropic Thunder. Watch this space, you may hear something soon’.
