Comedy conference for TV folk

Top names in TV comedy are holding another industry conference to share tips about getting ideas onto the screen.

Sessions at September’s TV Comedy Forum will cover what commissioners are looking for, advice on securing success in the US and a discussion about how broadcasters can source and develop talent.

And – as at last year’s event – commissioning editors will try their hand at stand-up following a day of coaching from the pros.

Speakers at the event, organised by Paramount Comedy and trade magazine Broadcast, will include Rob Brydon, former BBC comedy head Jon Plowman, Henry Normal of Baby Cow and Channel 4 comedy controller Andrew Newman.

A spokesman said that delegates ‘will hear the top names in comedy tackle the issues that matter’.

The event will take place at a central London venue yet to be announced on September 18, and early-bird registration costs £399 + VAT. For more information, visit the official website.
