Police investigate Walliams fan

An obsessed fan of David Walliams is under police investigation for harassment.

Over the past three years, Sarah Bartholomew has sent the Little Britain star explicit poetry and bombarded him with gifts including a DVD of Are You Being Served?, a cuddly donkey and a book about Daleks.

The 29-year-old veterinary nurse has already been banned from the BBC studios after reportedly trying to get into Walliams’s dressing room.

Her obsession with the comedian was included in the book Inside Little Britain., which Walliams co-wrote. It described a 12-page poem ‘written in various different colours of ink over a period of weeks… [which] relentlessly refers to the sexual feelings she has for David.’

Walliams now feels her attentions are too far, and his solicitors have asked police to investigate a formal allegation of harassment.

Bartholomew, Clacton-on-Sea, Essex, told the Daily Mail: ‘Every time I've got something requesting me to keep my distance from David, restraining orders and injunctions come to mind, but it hasn't happened yet so I'm not thinking about it.

‘I have seen him hundreds of times, probably thousands. I can't see him at the BBC studios any more because I've been banned. When he was on tour, which went on for months, I more or less followed him the length and breadth of Britain. I spend thousands each year but you can't put a price on some things.’

Metropolitan Police confirmed an allegation had been made.
