Vintage comedy scripts auctioned
...to raise cash for animal charity
Carla Lane is selling her original sitcom scripts for Bread, Butterflies and The Liver Birds to raise money for an animal sanctuary.The animal-lover says she can no longer afford to send donations to Animaline Rescue, based near Horsted Keynes in West Sussex – so is donating her memorabilia instead.
The autographed scripts are covered with Lane's handwritten notes.
The first two scripts are for Bread and The Liver Birds, pictured and have already attracted bids of more than £130 on charity auction site E2Bid.co.uk.
A script from Butterflies will follow.
Lane wrote on the Animaline Rescue website:’ I have so willingly given my money to Animaline over the years,"but am now no longer in a position to do so."
‘This message comes with a plea to all those who know our work to help us, however you can.’
