I'm tax free!

Inman's £2.8m will

John Inman left £2.8million in his will, it emerged today.

Almost all his estate will go to his partner of 35 years, Ron Lynch,.

Lynch, 54, has avoided paying inheritance tax of around £1million because the pair became civil partners in December 2005.

If they had not been in a partnership, the taxman would have taken 40 per cent of everything the actor left over the £285,000 threshold.

The Are You Being Served? star died of liver problems in March, at the age of 71.

The only other beneficiary of Inman's will was the Entertainment Artistes Benevolent Fund, which receives £5,000.
