How to have a comedy hit

The Office producer Ash Atalla and Peep Show writers Sam Bain and Jesse Armstrong are giving a free comedy masterclass to celebrate Channel 4’s 25th birthday.The seminar is one of four that will launch the station’s new talent schemes next month.
Channel 4’s head of entertainment Andrew Newman will host the comedy session, called Making 'em Laugh, on June 12.
The broadcaster said the participants will ‘look at how comedy gets commissioned, what makes a script work and how ideas are developed.
‘The session will provide practical, useful advice about how to develop an entertainment career on TV.’
To apply to attend, you must write a brief paragraph explaining what benefit you would get from the session by May 28.
