QI spin-off for R4

Bailey & Munnery record pilot

QI creator John Lloyd has recorded a Radio 4 panel show further celebrating the quest for obscure knowledge.

In the show, provisionally called The Professor Of Curiosities, a series of experts have to convince a panel of comedians their object or subject is worthy of entering the Museum of Curiosities.

The panel on the the pilot episode, recorded last week, included Bill Bailey and Simon Munnery.

Lloyd, who also produced Not The Nine O'Clock News, Spitting Image and Blackadder, acted as chairman. He previously hosted the pilot episode of QI, before Stephen Fry landed the job.

  • Stand-up Ian Fox has made a pilot radio show based on his 2006 Edinburgh show The Butterfly Effect. The show, also starring Jo Enright and James Quinn from Early Doors, was made by the BBC’s comedy unit in Manchester
