Norton lands chat show

BBC2 slot from February

Graham Norton is to present a weekly chat show on BBC Two from early next year, the BBC has confirmed.

The 43-year-old comic was signed up from Channel 4 in 2004, under a multi-million pound deal.

But although he was hoped to be the new face of primetime Saturday-night TV, his corporation appearance s were initially restricted.

However following the success of Strictly Dance Fever,How Do You Solve a Problem like Maria? and his late-night talk show The Bigger Picture, the contract was renewed this summer for a reported £5million

Precise details of the format and transmission times of Norton’s new show have not been confirmed.

But trade magazine Broadcast reports that the show will air at 10pm on Thursdays from February 22.
